“Spider-Man — No Way Home” scored the third-biggest opening weekend in box office history — earning 253-million-dollars in its debut weekend in the U.S. and Canada. The new Spidey picture is the first film in the COVID pandemic era to top 100-million-dollars at North America’s theaters. Coming in second is the Disney animated movie “Encanto” with six-and-a-half-million-bucks. In third place is “West Side Story” with just over three-million-dollars. Rounding out the Top Five are “Ghostbusters — Afterlife” and “Nightmare Alley.”

— The actor best known for portraying “Mister Big” in “Sex in the City” is being dropped as a client by his talent agency. Chris Noth parted ways with A3 Artists Agency one day after being accused of sexual assault. “The Hollywood Reporter” says two women claim Noth assaulted them in separate incidents that happened years apart. The first reportedly happened in Los Angeles in 2004 and the second in New York in 2015. The actor called the accusations “categorically false” and claims the incidents were consensual. Noth signed with the A3 agency earlier this year. He also starred in “Law and Order” and “The Good Wife.”

— Paul Rudd celebrates his fifth time hosting Saturday Night Live with no studio audience. The 52-year-old previously led the show in 2008, 2010, 2013, and 2019, with Saturday’s visit landing him in the Five-Timers Club. Even though there were no audience members because of COVID-19 protocols, Tom Hanks and Tina Fey helped him celebrate on stage. Rudd also received an iconic hosting jacket from cast member Kenan Thompson.

— “Drive My Car” is not only a classic Beatles song — it’s also the name of the drama named Best Picture of 2021 by the Los Angeles Film Critics Association. The three-hour movie from Japanese director Ryusuke [[ RYE-yoo-soo-kay ]] Hamaguchi concerns the relationship between an aging actor and his young chauffer. The critics group also named Penelope Cruz as Best Actress for “Parallel Mothers” while Simon Rex received Best Actor honors for his work in “Red Rocket.” The L-A-F-C-A is also presenting Mel Brooks with its 2021 Career Achievement Award. The awards were announced on Twitter. All winners will be honored during a ceremony scheduled to be held next year.

— Lori Laughlin is back on TV for the first time since leaving lockup. She spent two months in prison after getting caught up in a college admissions scandal. She returned to the small screen for Hallmark’s “When Calls the Heart” over the weekend, reprising her role as Abigail. The Hallmark Channel previously told Entertainment Tonight they had no plans to work with Laughlin following her release while Laughlin’s reps said she was excited to get back to work.

– ‘Riverdale’s’ Casey Cott is officially a married man. The 29-year-old married his longtime girlfriend Nichola Basara on Saturday. The couple was surrounded by several of Casey’s cast mates, including Camila Mendes and KJ Apa. Earlier this year, the two had announced plans for a “rather small” ceremony because of the coronavirus pandemic. — It seems like comedian Pete Davidson and Reality TV star Kim Kardashian are still going strong. The couple took a picture having dinner at a restaurant in Staten Island on Saturday night. They were with Scott Disick and the restaurant’s owner, Vincent Malerba. The couple, who went public in October, was also spotted going to the movies after dinner.

— Actress Jennifer Lawrence is hunting for the perfect home in New York City. The Daily Mail spotted the very pregnant 31-year-old scoping out places in New York City’s East Village with her husband, 37-year-old Cooke Maroney. Lawrence sold her penthouse in Manhattan for just under ten-million-dollars more than a year ago. She later bought a 22-million-dollar townhouse in the West Village. No word on where the couple might end up.
