Coronavirus Asian hate crimes continue as Authorities look for a teenage girl who made racist declarations/remarks as she viciously attacked an Asian female on a Bronx MTA bus with an umbrella.
The 51-year-old victim was assaulted by the group of 4 ladies about 3 p.m. on March 28th as she rode the Bx13 bus near Ogden Avenue and W. 166th St. in Highbridge, police officers stated.
The women made anti-Asian remarks prior to them hitting the female in the head with an umbrella and left the bus, police stated.
The attack is at least the 6th anti-Asian hate criminal activity in current weeks. Much of the attacks were influenced by the coronavirus pandemic, based upon the attackers’ twisted remarks.
The victim was quickly taken to a regional medical facility where she required stitches to close a gash on her forehead, according to authorities.
3 15-year-old teens were captured near the scene following the attack and charged with hate crime activity attacks and harassment.
Polices are trying to find a 4th offender and asking for the public’s aid to find her.
A security image launched by the NYPD reveals a girl using a pink headband and black coat leaning over a bar on the bus to assault the victim.
