Losing a pet is quite a devastating moment in our lives. Our pets have been with us for many years spreading warmth, compassion, and love in us. So, when they leave us, we get depressed. Most of us wonder about this question a lot of times – do pets go to heaven.
If you are mourning the loss of your dear pet, and have thought about this question many times in the past, this article may clarify some things for you.
Heaven – Salvation and Redemption
The first and foremost point you should remember about heaven is that only people who seek redemption and salvation are allowed here, as per the Bible. The Lord created humans and blessed them with the unique sense of identifying the difference between good and evil. So, man is responsible for the decisions he/she makes in life. He can get into heaven to be saved or seek salvation for the decisions he took during his lifetime.
However, the Lord didn’t give animals that sense. Animals weren’t “fallen” creatures like humans. In other words, animals couldn’t be considered “sinners” for their actions. Therefore, the Bible doesn’t talk about animals getting entry into heaven after their death. The answer to the question, do pets go to heaven, is not answered in the scriptures.
Freedom of choosing the answer to Do Pets Go To Heaven
Hence, you are free to assume the answer to this question. If you want to believe that you can find your pets back in heaven when you reach there, you are free to do so. Nobody can stop you from hoping for the same. On the other hand, if you think that pets haven’t done anything wrong to seek redemption and salvation, and hence, they have no reason to get into heaven, you can believe that theory as well. In this case, always remember the Lord’s words in the Bible – “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former shall not be remembered or come to mind” (Isaiah 65:17).
Live in the moment
From the above passage, you are allowed to hope that the Lord will create something new for you, for your loss. If you have lost your pet, maybe He will create a new pet for you. As a grateful human being, it would be best if you accept and love every moment that God has presented you with, instead of worrying about questions for which there are no concise answers. As long as you have your pets around you, love them and spend your time happily with them. When they are gone, trust the Lord and believe that he has planned something for you and your dead pets. His plans are always better than yours, so live in the moment, and enjoy every minute of your life.
The Bible doesn’t give any clear answers about the presence of pets in heaven or answer the question – Do Pets Go To Heaven; however, it does specify in many places that the plan of salvation and redemption was designed only for humans.
So, while we don’t know for sure if pets go to heaven, we can be sure that they don’t go to hell, either. And we can attain a lot of solace from this fact.
