Police are searching for an unnamed woman and Randall McKenzie, 25 after a police officer was shot to death after responding to a vehicle in a ditch.
UPDATE 4:30 p.m.
The commissioner of the Ontario Provincial Police has identified the officer who was shot and killed.
“It is with an extremely heavy heart that I regretfully advise that #OPP Provincial Constable Grzegorz Pierzchala was killed today while courageously serving in the line of duty,” wrote Commissioner Thomas Carrique on Twitter.
Premier Doug Ford also confirmed that the suspects were apprehended without incident.
“Our first responders are true heroes. We share in the pain felt by family, friends and the entire police community as Ontario mourns this loss, wrote Ford.

The mayor of Haldimand County says a regional Ontario Provincial Police officer has been shot and killed.
Mayor Shelley Bentley says in a statement that she is “deeply saddened” by the loss of one of the county’s officers who died in the line of duty.
Const. Edward Sanchuk of the Haldimand County OPP says in a video posted to Twitter that an officer was shot while responding to a vehicle in a ditch. The officer was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition but succumbed to his injuries.

Const. Sanchuk says a male and female were seen fleeing from the scene.
An emergency alert has been issued advising all area residents to remain where they are as the suspect is believed to be armed.
They are searching for 25-year-old Randall McKenzie in a 2021 black Chevrolet pickup truck. They also released a photo of an unnamed woman who is believed to be travelling with McKenzie.
