Indigenous people that are 65 and over are able to book their appointments this month, Seniors in BC To get vaccine doses first.
According to insider sources, these individuals will be eligible to receive the first dose by the end of July.
Health officials in British Columbia announced that every adult who is eligible will be able to get the first dose of the vaccine for covid-19.
All this happened as a result of an implemented timeline by Health authorities as they moved into the second phase.
According to sources at the health department, beginning today, Monday, March 1st, 2021, authorities are going to be in contact with residents of independent living facilities as well as senior housing centers that will include support staff of Home Care Facilities.
The department has also advised that senior citizens who do not currently live in care facilities are also able to book appointments based on the schedule listed below.
- March 8th, 2021 those over 90 years old or born before 1931 and that includes indigenous people who are 65 or over who were born before 1956
- March 15th those seniors who have surpassed age 85 born before 1936
- March 22nd will include seniors who are 80 and older born before 1941

In the event that a senior citizen does not have the ability themselves to make that phone call, a member of his or her family or even a friend, or a support worker may do so for them or on their behalf.
Clinic locations for immunization are going to be verified and confirmed when that call is made, all vaccinations for injections will be commencing as early as March 15th, 2021 for the initial first group.
It has come to our attention that the Ontario Province at this time is using a system which is a staggered schedule, relieving the call centers of being overwhelmed by calls. The health department has requested that individuals make these phone calls, only, when they are eligible for the vaccination.
