Team Canada Finalizes World Junior Championship Roster

Canada has made its final cuts for the World Junior Championship roster on Sunday, finalizing the 25-man group that will challenge for gold in Edmonton in the coming weeks.
Canada’s 10 cuts were:
Forwards: Luke Evangelista, Zach Dean, Ryan Tverberg, Jack Finley, William Dufour, Hendrix Lapierre, Joshua Roy
Defensemen: Daemon Hunt, Vincent Iorio, Jack Thompson
Hockey Canada confirmed earlier this week that Thompson would not make the team after missing camp due to COVID-19. Kent Johnson,
Of the roster, three players – goaltender Dylan Garand, defenseman Kaiden Guhle and forward Cole Perfetti – are returnees from the 2021 team that won silver, also in Edmonton.
Canada will head to Banff, Alberta to begin training camp, which will run from Dec. 14-19. Canada will begin its pre-tournament play with a game against Switzerland on Dec. 19 before later playing Sweden and Russia. Canada opens up the preliminary round with a Boxing Day match against the Czech Republic.
