When Will Congress Pass the 2nd Stimulus Check

As coronavirus cases increase in parts of the nation, even requiring some states to re-close numerous businesses, people have started asking when will Congress pass the 2nd stimulus check?

Over the next several weeks, Congress appears poised to pass another significant financial relief cheque, with Republican and Democratic leaders suggesting more direct stimulus payments for Americans.

President Trump and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin have both stated consistently that they support another round of financial effect payments.

Under the CARES Act, countless Americans got checks up to $1,200 and an extra $500 for each qualified child, for people earning less than $75,000 and couples earning less than $150,000 each year.

The HEROES Act, which your home of Representatives passed in May, would have triggered another round of payments, however, the Republican-controlled Senate squashed the $3 trillion propositions dead on arrival.

In order for another round of payments to enter the hands of Americans in the next couple of months, Congress will likely need to come together on a compromise and send it to the president in the next couple of weeks, prior to the Senate going on a Summer recess.

What is the timeline for a second stimulus check?

Some say – July 20

The U.S. Senate returns Monday, July 20th, from a recess that started on Friday, July 3rd.

Steven Mnuchin just recently told First News Click team that “as quickly as the Senate returns, we’re going to muffle a bipartisan basis with the Republicans and the Democrats and it will be on top of our list to get or done between the 20th and end of the month that we pass the next legislation.”

In an interview in Kentucky, Mitch McConnell verified he has was talking with Mnuchin currently and his staffers have been dealing with legislation for one last coronavirus rescue plan. He stated they’ll start talking about the strategy next week.

McConnell included that he will begin “mingling” with GOP members when folks return, then begin working out details with Democrats and “begin the legal procedure.”

“I believe you might this capping at some point within the next 3 weeks, starting next week,” McConnell stated.
